Tang Family Christmas Update

We would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

It has been a busy year, starting with the birth of Rylyn on January 7 2009. It is hard to believe that Rylyn is going to be 1 soon. She has 4 teeth, and is learning new words everyday. She will ask for mom and milk when hungry or tired (in chinese she says ma ma nie nie). When she wants dad to pick her up she will say 'ba ba bow bow' (dad carry me in mandarin). If she doesn't want something she will first turn away, and if that doesn't work she will wave her two hands in front of her face to say no. And her list of milestones go on.

Ella has been busy this year with ballet, music class, lots of swimming lessons, changing daycare centres, spending a month in Toronto with mom and Rylyn, starting kindergarten, skating, survival swimming lessons and jazz ballet class (to name a few). She enjoys drawing and designing dresses and outfits, especially princess ones. Freestyle dancing is also one of her favourite past times. She is also a great helper and loves her sister very much. It is amazing to see her grow everyday. The best sign of her maturing is watching her talk to her friend Simone via Skype, they will have a full conversation for 15-20 minutes and longer if we didn't cut them off to go to bed.

In 2010 she is looking forward to doing some more swimming, learning yoga and maybe starting piano lessons.

It has been a year of change for Joyce. Being on maternity leave for the year has allowed her to enjoy her two girls and watch them grow. Rylyn has kept her busy with her constant need to feed and inability to sleep for long periods of time. Thankfully at around 9 months she started to sleep through the night once in a while giving Joyce some much needed rest. Joyce has also developed strong arm muscles from running errands with a 25+ baby in one arm and pushing a 38lb child in the stroller. 2010 will bring change as she returns to the work force.

2009 has been a stressful, but rewarding year for Peter. Not only did he witness the birth of his second daughter, he also successfully defended his dissertation in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry. His perseverance and hard work has finally paid off. He is also starting an exciting position doing research in Neuroscience (can't give much more detail since Joyce is writing this blog and has a limited knowledge of science).

Thanks to all those that came to visit us in 2009 and for our family and friends that took care of us while we were in Toronto for a month. We look forward to more visitors, trips abroad and hearing from all of you.

Happy Holidays and Joyous New Year to you all. God bless!
